KoalaPaw Terms of Service
1. About KoalaPaw
KoalaPaw is an Android TV application published by Koala Software Ltd. It is a client for Jellyfin, a self-hosted media server. KoalaPaw does not provide any media content and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Jellyfin project. By purchasing, installing, or using KoalaPaw you agree to these terms.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use KoalaPaw on Android TV devices that you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer the app except where such a restriction is prohibited by law or by the open-source licences of components included in the app.
3. Purchases and refunds
KoalaPaw is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google. Refunds are subject to Google Play’s refund policy, including its standard refund window — we cannot issue refunds ourselves. Please contact Google Play support for refund requests.
4. Your server, your content
KoalaPaw plays media from Jellyfin servers that you operate or are authorised to use. You are responsible for:
- the content on your server and your right to store and play it;
- complying with Jellyfin’s own terms and licences;
- the security of your server and network;
- supervising children in your care. KoalaPaw’s parental controls (screen-time limits, quiet hours, kid mode, PIN) are aids, not guarantees.
5. Optional crash reporting
KoalaPaw can send crash reports to our server to help us fix bugs, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Account.
6. Third-party software
KoalaPaw includes open-source components (including Media3, Coil, ACRA, libass, and fribidi) which are covered by their own licences. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.
7. No warranty
KoalaPaw is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or every Jellyfin server configuration.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Koala Software Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of KoalaPaw. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above will change, and continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer-protection law in your country gives you rights that cannot be waived.
